Heyyo,

Lol, ! now here's a good subject thread.

I'm Canadian eh? so I love my home brewed beer (some are really sweet but lots of kick), I LOVE Lucky and Molson Canadian, Kokanee's ok... I also like Labatt Blue, cause it's like, a French-Canadian's beer eh?

I like killkenny, cheaper than Alexander Kieth's, and I say tastes just as good, and it's a pretty dark beer too.

Gotta love the Heine, cool how they come in keg-like cans. Coors is ok...

Budweiser? I say it's the only half-decent beer americans can make... interesting how they own some of our canadian beers yet can't copy them to make a decent beer. 9_9

[EDIT]
OH! I went to mexico before, and they made this one beer... Negra Modelo, it was pretty good, had a nice sweet taste to it.

And another exotic beer, this time from the Philippines: San Miguel. Definately one of the best exotic beers I've had... Lots of...

[EDIT2]
HEHEHE! who here's been to a novelty shop called San Fransisco? They have this one poster, "10 Reasons Why men love beer more than women" and my fav was: "When a man tells his beer 'I love you' he means it." 8D

Hehehehe, cervezas, you of all people ought to like beer! I mean, with that nick...

I like many different beers. When I was in Spain, I was pleasantly surprised by some good beers they got - Cruzcampo, Alhambra or Mahou, for example. San Miguel is one of the few beers the rest of which I gladly emptied into a park after tasting one mouthful. Some obscure, brownish North-West American (Seattle Area) beer was equally awful, about at the same level like Chinese Ginseng beer. Yes, that exists.

I like the taste of Desperados, that Mexican beer, but unfortunately I get a headache from it no matter how little I drink. I like many Pilsners, too, but I'm afraid I'm not much into most dark beers, except for some nice bitters I drank in England and of course Kilkenny, which can be nice once in a while as well.

But I keep coming back to what I grew up with, our very special beer which is only brewed here in Cologne - Kölsch. There are more than 20 private breweries in the area of Cologne, and all of them make Kölsch. For people used to Pilsner or stronger beers it tastes weak at first, and Bavarians, who are used to drinking beer from 1l "buckets" often make fun of the small, thin glasses (0,2l - they kinda look like test tubes if you're used to fat tankards). But it's a great party beer, and nothing feels as good as one nice cool Kölsch after a longer time of drinking other beers. Not that I wouldn't enjoy other beers, but it just feels like your tongue is coming home...9_9

Concenring Dutch beer, I really don't understand why Heineken made it all around the world... I'd prefer Grolsch all the way, and not only because of the fancy "plop-action" bottles. But when we spent our holidays in the Netherlands and regularly plundered the nearest supermarket's Grolsch supply, we had a friend coming with a crate of Kölsch... all I say is "heaven".

Oh, and in Granada, Spain, there was a nice little private brewery where they made very yummy beer, and they emphasized that they made it according to the German law of beer purity, which has been in vigor since 1516(!) and survived every trouble in history and every change of governments, be they monarchies, republics, dictatorships or democracies. It has made sure that there's no unnecessary junk in our beer for nearly 500 years, and I hope it will live to its 1,000th year as well - Hail Beer! *burps*

-EDIT-

@ MarD: I do believe it's spelled "Kilkenny" (with one "l" only...) - "killkenny" is South Park.

At first I thought Fanta was some kind of alcoholic drink that you mixed with cola, but then Seu's comment forced me to look it up.

Germans invented it from a byproduct of cheese and jam.

Beer > Cheese+jam

I don't care how it's done, as long as it tastes good and it doesn't give me headaches the morning after

Hey the canucks: check out what they make in Chambly, they have a pretty good brewery, and most of their beers are very famous in France. They even have cool names, like "Eau bénite", "Maudite", "Fin du monde", "Don de Dieu", etc. These are very tasty ones, a bit acid for some, but it depends. Watch out the alcohol rate: from 9 to 12 degrees

But overall I prefer beers from belgium or germany. More beer and less extra spices and crap. The Chimay make pretty good beers, and the Karmeliet Triple also is one of my favourites. When we're drinking beer, I usually start soft anyway, like, a Leffe, then move on to higher alcohol rates... a common strong beer in France (although I'm not sure it's brewed in France) is "La Bičre du Démon" (Devil's Beer) which rates at 12°. It's vitriol. But the strongest I've drank ever was some variety of Eku, 35 fucking percent of alcohol!!! although I could never find it elsewhere since then. But man, this beer is a WMD.

So true... but I'm not sure if we're talking about the same San Miguel here. If the one you drank was from the Philippines, it might have been a totally different beer.
