Warning Slow loading waypoint files - 10-01-2006

I'm new to cstrike but not computing. I have a linux machine running gentoo - on map changes the waypoint files seem to take forever to load. Is there some way I can precache them or does anyone have any other suggestions or experienced anything similar.

They are loading slow only when You are playing the first time the map with podbot. When You are playing the same map again (after loading it again, when You finished playing another map) - they will load for You faster.

Thanks for the response. I wish that were the case, however, I am running Team Fortress with Foxbot and it is experiencing the same problem with HLDS. The map turnover is slow. Could it be the age of the machine? The only thing is everything else loads very quickly and the servers don't experience any lag even with many players.

The machine is PIII and the CPU is getting used up to 90%. I think I may have found the cause. There is only 128MB of RAM. I'm going to boost that to see if that speeds the loading of the bots in both games.

since we don't know at what speed it is running, this might not be a good idea ... or are you owning some power plants and running out of customers ?!

Good point, I think he just needs a new comp overall... I don't think I could play cs on that kind of computer.. would lag me bad, graphics would be choppy, and slow overall.
