Default Linux Rb install - 26-01-2004

Hi, I have adminmod as well as metamod installed. I have followed the instructions to the tee and it still will not work. I don't ave any errors when I start cstrike and all the other metamod plugins work fine. The server is hlds_l for steam cs 1.6

Any suggestions?

What do you mean it is not working? Does Realbot appear in the list when you type META LIST in the HLDS server console ?

Also, what version of RealBot are you using? If you are using the normal version (i.e. v1.0, and not the WIP version), then I think it does not use MetaMod, so it will not appear in the META LIST.

Let me boot up my Linux box and I'll see if I can remember how I set mine up and what versions I am using.

Whoops... My bad.... I booted up my linux box and realized that I also struggled to get RB (WIP version) working nicely with metamod. This was however one of the original WIP versions as the later ones are only for Win32. If you'd like I can try and get RB v1.0 working with Linux and then let you know if I came across any issues and how I overcame them?

Yes that would be appreciated I am not using the WIP version either because, like you said, there is no recent Linux version.

Thanks

Ok... This is what I did......

- Starting from a clean hlds_l install, I updated it to latest version (using ./steam -update)
- Installed RealBot v1.00 as per the Readme and it worked fine
- installed metamod and changed liblist.gam to load metamod (and not realbot) and metamod worked fine (obvously at this stage realbot was not loaded)
- changed command line for launching hlds from
./hlds_run -game cstrike
to
./hlds_run -game cstrike +localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/realbot_i486.so
- metamod works fine and so does realbot

As Metamod works fine with realbot, I would assume that if you then load a metamod plugin that causes the server to crash, it is most likely the plugin that is at fault.

By the way... If your original problem was that bots were not joining, did you try type 'rbds addbot' (without the quotes) in the hlds console? This will add a ranbom bot with random skill to a random team (Refer to Realbot Readme, section Usage)

The problem was not that bots weren't being added, the problem was it just wasn't being loaded... but I will try from a clean install and see what happens...

I install adminmod which also installs metamod at the same time.. hope that doesn't mess things up. I will post back on the weekend when I'm not bogged down with work and school
