thats your router speed..
you need to connect your computer directly to the modem to get the internet connection speed..

9_9 same thing here

I have >100Mbps LAN speed between my poor Windows XP workstation and my UNIX (OpenBSD) server which does routing, firewall, DNS proxy and all. Unfortunately that doesn't change the RTC link which is still at ~33kBps with a 56k Olitec modem Best download rates are no higher than 4 or 5 kb/second...
Although letting UNIX handle the modem improved speed a LOT.
