while i personaly like the idea of getting the source, for building and stuff, i fear that it will lead to a waste amount of feedback, if compiling realbot in the wild gets common....
not that much for windows i expect, since few people use other than the MS development software, but for linux it can be hard, du to the fact that only few pieces of the software needed is documented (HL Sdk patches, metamod patches, build environment, glibc version problems, LD_PATH variables).
another problem is, that bot's are mostly needed asap and people are used to included bots, so that they are not willing to spend 3+ hrs on installing a bot, in that case the source only poses a thread in the hand of the contra-productive...
on the other hand small features and bugfixes will also be submittet in greater number, esp. then people can fix an test it before stefan has to spend time on it.
to summ it up, why not let stefan give the source to the one who want's it, keeping the (c) at stefan (no GPL), since i don't think there are many hidden bot developers out there who will only work on that bot if it's totaly free.
Cheers MeMeD
(@stefan b.t.w. _it_ (2053) is running on the BU server, but nowhere else until you make a release, i did withstand the chance of dumping it to my server)
