STEAM UPDATE: How to get the bots working again?

Situation
You started STEAM again and it got updated. Counter-Strike also got updated and now the bots do not work anymore. Error(s) you can get:
unknown command: rb_addbot

Possibly, you tried fixing things yourself. Running acticatecs16.bat again for instance, but this did not work. STEAM crashed when you set up the gamedll entry again.

Sollution
The sollution is simple, yet effective. This applies to most STEAM updates. Only when Valve changed something significantly in the engine the following steps will not work:

1) delete liblist.gam
2) delete cstrike/dlls/mp.dll
3) run STEAM & Counter-Strike. Create a NEW game. Let it run, join a team.
4) exit Counter-Strike
5) edit liblist.gam, and find the line that says:
gamedll "dlls\mp.dll"
replace it with:
gamedll "..\realbot\dll\realbot.dll"
6) save liblist.gam, make it read-only and run Counter-Strike again.
7) start a new server and wait for the 'welcome message'. If it does not appear, you probably forgot to set it to read-only, execute step 6.

How do i make liblist.gam read-only
Right-click on LIBLIST.GAM. Go to PROPERTIES. A window will pop-up and you can see at the bottom a check-box for read-only. Turn it on, click "OK".

I think you might have made a typo? Shouldn't it be: " ...it will NOT work so try this to correct the problem...." ?

But then again I may have misunderstood something and be wrong?

This means, when Valve changes something to the engine interface (you can read it from the changelogs they provide) there is high probability the steps will not work because I have to release a new DLL then to make sure the engine interfaces match. Since RB goes metamod, the engine part is mostly work for Will Day (author of metamod).

seems i realy gonna have to try out metamod o_O

and it's allready getting so complicated (i know nothing about programming and stuff.. it's not always to figure out)

If you don't know how to use Metamod, do not use it, simply use RB AI V1.0 which is WITHOUT metamod (but works with metamod , but not as plugin).

Whenever i release an official version of rb again, there will be an easy-to-setup install (with a metamod.dll included).

Yeah great with a "easy-to-setup install"... cuz I cannot make metamod work..
Or actually it says that metamod is running, but I can't get RB loaded as a plugin..

well, since there is no official release yet you still have to wait until i release one.

I had the problem with rb_addbot but i simply made liblist.gam read-only and that fixed it. Although the realbot cfg was loading even when the dll wasn't, strange.

Hey, if I do all that, am I going to be able to play with the normal steam (with my friends and all and without bots)?
