Default Help with experience of the bots WIP #9 - 08-10-2004

Am using RealBot WIP #9 (Build 3005) - Windows. I have everything working. RB 1.0 is installed, Metamod is installed, and the WIP#9 dll is up. I've put in the new commands for listenserver also. I have played with the bots a bit but do not see where they save their experience files. I have done a search of the harddrive for new file creations and have not located them. The reason I ask is because everytime I start, the bots just stand there, as the rounds increment, the bots get "smarter" and will move around, not all (playing with 9 bots and myself). But would like to not have to retrain the bots each time.

It should be in your:
X:\..\..\steam\SteamApps\your@email.se\counter-strike\RealBot\data\cstrike\exp

If you don't have one, create one. OR you might have installed it into the wrong folder... It works even if you do that but it can't save the experience files and stuff.
Double check your install to make sure.
Note that the "RealBot" folder should be at the same level as your "cstrike" folder.

Thanks Sluggo. The folder was just what I needed. Apparently without the folder, they couldn't save their experience.

On a side question, is there a place where I can go to get some experience files for the more popular maps? I tried to follow the Nodes download from Realbot's website but that leads to the download page for the WIP#9 nodes here at .:: Bots United ::. which leads back up to the waypoint/nodes download area and just becomes circular at that point.

Glad to help ogre,
Well you could follow this link and download a tool/program called .... hmmm, what was it, bsp2rbn.exe. That program will make nodefiles of your maps.

Because RealBot auto-waypoints, you have to have the node files AND the experience files FROM THE SAME SERVER. Does that still work, help me, I'm rusty

I also found that after several rounds, maybe 50 or so, that the bots needed auto waypointing again. I dont know what causes this. If the bots auto waypoint, how do you turn it off when they know the map? Sorry, very rusty.
