Default Dedicated Server Questions - 08-03-2004

I have scoured the forums and this is what I believe needs to be done:

Install AI 1.0 into my HLSERVER directory.
Place the realbot_MM.dll in a directory I create called C:\HLSERVER\CSTRIKE\ADDONS\REALBOT\DLLs
I then changed the metamod plugin.ini to activate the REALBOT_MM.DLL

I can start the server and REALBOT is loaded, meta_list v3005. I am then able to addbots and the start the learning process.

The portion I am not understanding is the AI 1.0

As stated before I installed it into my HLSERVER dorectory. The installer is nice but confusing. I then executed the activatecs16 files and all files copied and the liblist.gam file was changed to add the realbot.dll line to it.

I then start the server and nothing works. No METAMOD,ADMINMOD, or REALBOT mod.

I am sure to be flamed but I just want to get the program to work.

Don't use the activatecs1.6 script! This only works for AI which isn't working any more which CS1.6 since one of the last steam updates. Well, there is a workaround for this but that's another topic as you want to use the WIP versions.

Edit your liblist.gam and reactivate metamod. As you've been able to add bots anything should be fine. And it's correct that realbot installs at your HLSERVER folder, DON'T CHANGE THIS! This is the most common error people make when the start using realbot...

Thanks for letting me know I was not going crazy...

I download some of the preset maps (nodes) and placed them in the proper folders. Does this mean that the bots will learn quicker.

I add the bot and their shooting skills are great but they would not buy weapons, they seemed to follow the same set path each time, and they ran really slow.

I am impressed with the runing and shooting skills.

Just to make sure... I have it installed the program right and the bots will automatically learn coorect?

Where did you get those waypoints? They have to be at least for WIP#8 or they might not work correctly AFAIK.

The bots will learn the map by human players walking around. After some rounds they should start to use more random paths - just be patient.

Not buying weapons sounds like an older WIP (# which doesn't recognize the start of a new round, make sure you have the current version (#9).

As I'm not running realbot currently, someone else might help you further with this problem.
