My computer is getting old... What do you recommend?

AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1679 MHz)
nVidia Geforce FX 5200 (128 MB)
ASUS A7A266-E
512 MB RAM (DDR)

I'd recommend getting an amd64 for a processor - they run 32bit just fine, or you could go for a 64bit OS. I run Gentoo under native 64bit, it loves that, but 32bit winxp (mainly because ati don't support <9500 64bit windows drivers, and I have a radeon 9250se) which still runs quite nice.

40 Gig HD
Geforce FX 5200 Go , 64 MB video ram

And you know what, run HL2 : CSS at DirectX 7 mode smoooth!

i would personally get a much better soundcard, soundblaster for gaming, and something complety different if you're gonna use it for anything else.
A better mouse would probably be recommended too, i think.
