Default Bot skill problem - 07-06-2004

is it just me or is the bot skill the same for all number? or different rather, I made a team of all bots with 1's and 0's against a team of bots with 9's and 10's on dust2 and progidy and it seemed like it made no difference, infact.. the ones with the 10's won the game. I've done several tests against bots of different skill and hardly notice a different.

rb_addbot 1 2 5 "Dude"

2 is the skill right, or do I have the wrong order?

I was expecting 0 "godlike" to be like a hacker bot and get a headshot everytime, and 10 more like a newbie that can't aim.

An interesting post Xan433. With the current version of RB, the skill level doesn't seem to make much difference. I tinker with the offsets and delay time parameters in the bots personality files just to slow them down..otherwise you get a lot of sickening headshots which is dissappointing for any human to play with. Tinker with it...the problem with a WIP is that you never know which parameters are active ...and those which are not. Use your mind, you wont break anything...just tinker and post up your results. we all learn together

i noticed the same thing. i didnt do a test quite that specific, but i used the personality manager and set the skill levels to be different, but noticed some of the low skill bots had a higher rank than the high skill bots with statsme. then i messed with the offset values. definitely noticed a decrease in headshots. the bots dont seem to be that different even with the differing offsets, but at least its more different than before.
