Default Ladder + floor connections help - 01-06-2006

I have been following the ladder rules in the pbmmreadme.html file (basic waypointing) and I make the bottom and top floors where the ladders connect and then make the ladder waypoints and I always get an error like:
Nr. 0 to Nr. 148 Path error (or something similar).

And it always want's me to delete the top floor waypoints, so I took abunch of SS's of what I see, and hopefully you can tell me whats going on.

All bottom (main level) waypoints work 100% until I go up stairs and do those waypoints.
Once I do those waypoints, the bottom or main level waypoints corrupt and have path errors. I did max distance crap, but it's always the waypoints on the upper level floors that I'm always having problems with.

I found out that the top of the ladder, ladder waypoint was to high.
OMG I can't believe that was the problem.

I will soon be making a website that will give away maps and waypoints for PodBot MM.

Oh, nooo.
If You are waypointing it so (especially the picture with index Nr 137) - the bot will not work correctly (using A* pathfinder code).

http://podbotmm.bots-united.com/docu...waypoint2.html
Look at Overlapping Connections section.
Don't connect Your WPs to any far away in some certain direction if there is some connection already done.
And You may need to manually connect the top ladder WP with the buttom one. Normally You shouldn't use the default auto max path distance as 250. Use about 160. And autowaypointing use only to cover some big free areas. To connect ladders, some corridors or stairs etc it's much better to connect WPs manually. Just point Your crosshair at the WP You want to connect, then invoke from menu (or use bind) "Path connections" and choose one You need. And make sure Your top ladder WP has no connection to any normal WP placed at buttom (picture with index 223) - the bot may fall down in such situation trying to reach Your WP 223 instead using ladder. You need to connect top ladder WP with top normal WPs and buttom ladder WP with normal buttom WPs.

nr 223 has waypoints connected to it on top, just its a crouch node.
And I tested it and everything works out great. I just found out the ladders waypoints were to high and now I am waypointing ladders like mad

Read the advanced waypointing section. Your waypoints don't look as proffesional ones. Ones You dedicate the time to read it and You will be a better waypointer. Believe me.

Just write in this subforum (Waypointing/ Podbot mm Waypoint format) the new topic dedicated to Your site with maps and Your waypoints, but first check all of them waypoint by waypoint if they are now sufficient quality (without these mistakes You were doing before). The people may ask You about some of them, maybe they will have some requests for new ones. Who knows - maybe if You will help good the people here - You will deserve to stay a moderator here? Since T Wrecks and SoUlFaThEr don't visit this forum since long time (and biohazerd does it really rarelly), I think this forum may need some new moderator.
Because it's possible I'll be offline until end of june, I may not be able to recommend Your site later (in Your new topic), so I'll try to do this now.
For the people they want to get some custom maps and Ancient's waypoints for it - here is the link:
http://www.cfegames.com/maps.php
I hope if that site will increase the popularity, the contents of it will be increased, too.

But post here - in this topic - the same pictures as in Your first post of this topic (the same places of the same maps) without the mistakes we were talking about - to let the people see You are now a better waypointer.
