Ok this is the third time this map has been requested and IMO all the regular waypointers pretty much have their hands full right now. So I have a proposal;
If Fritzbot is to grow we need more players and especially more waypointers. I mean just look at the list of maps done for omni-bot. Waypointing may seem like a frightful black box but it shouldn't be.
So to encourage more people to spend time learning something about waypointing I propose a little contest.
So the contest(s) will be for whoever makes
Quote:
The best variation of added waypoint elements placed in a bare bones waypoint package that I will post. If you think you know the best places to camp or roam etc. then you are our Man. This is really a group contest so more than one player/waypointer gets to win.
Handicaping
- To encourage the noobs I suggest a slight handicap;
if you are an experienced waypointer you are handicapped -1 vote but if you have never posted any waypoint before you are granted +1 vote
Penalties
If by the time of voting you
- have not thanked those who's work you have used or built on, (in a post or a text file) -7 votes
(if english not good, any language is OK)
- have not listed what the actions that you have added do and briefly other change info -3 votes (this does not have to be in sentences simple list is fine. It will be incorporated in the pk3 file.)
- Have used more than the agreed maximum number of actions, bots or placed stuff in areas not yet part of the contest -2 votes.
Posting files
Any way will be acceptable at the beginning so as to encourage everyone. You can post the changed files by themselves (nav aiscript bot etc) or in correctly created pk3 files. We'll try to help those who can't get the pk3 packages right.
The contest(s) I suggest will progress in stages
STAGE 1
Adding camps(all types), mineplants, routes-alt roams and making a bot file for the fight between the allies initial spawn and the Flag in the forward spawn. You can add or tweak anything between those 2 points and lets say just beyond to the bend in the road going to the depot.
STAGE 2
Building on the winning waypoints from stage 1 we now compete for the best fight to get the truck to the depot and to get inside. You can change anything from inside the forward spawn to inside the depot. The other areas from stage 1 can't be changed unless they are broken.
STAGE 3
This will be to get the gold on the truck and get the truck out of the depot. More details when we get here
Stage 4
This will be to get the truck to the exit and all manner of cleanup for the final winning effort. More details when we get here
Awards
I'll come up with some virtual awards thingies later, and everybody who makes an effort will get something.
Contest is open to everyone. Flaming anyone's effort no matter how bad or flakey is absolutely verbotten! The most helpful post-er gets the Miss Congeniality award.
The intent of the contest is not to make the absolute best kick ass waypoint, but to have fun and help each other learn.

OK so that is my proposal. I have already started throwing together the initial nodes...
So what do you say? Not afraid to frag but afraid to try something new?

How many can we get that will at least try? Can we get at least 5 other volunteers?

Uncle Sam say this truck WON'T get to the depot with out YOU!
Waiting for other players to join...
