I've just got the info from another experienced AMD64linux user.

He is recommending:
- to run "top", to see cpu load on each cpu and on each kernel on cpu.
- turn off other servers, because they clear cache on cpu when
sheduler change task very often, linux kernel have options,
that allow you to change frequency, its name in kernel:
Timer frequency:
- 100 HZ (recommended on DS!)
- 250 HZ
- 1000 HZ
and another option: Preemption Model:
- No Forced Preemption (Server)
- Voluntary Kernel Preemption

Another experience - server with 2 AMD64 Opteron processors:
For some unknown reason more players than 26 was increasing the CPU usage to maximum. The solution was odd (but effective):
run server on different kernel on CPU.
