I dont know if i mentioned this before (i cant remember doing so) but
http://www.blackbagops.com/ has a quite unique program that is able to somehow hook itself onto Battlefield 1942 to allow for server administration, Maybe it would be worth speaking to a member of the development team there, to ask exactly what was done, and how it was accomplished, and see if that can in some way help us out.
