I used to use a bot called BOCBot (Brain Of Combat), but I'm not sure if it's still updated. At the time it worked pretty well.

I just got around to download this and I was impressed. I didn't quite realize all of the bot options. Now I have to find time and go through and make a fleet of bots, I'm still using the default...
