Idea for addition to forum
I have an idea for an addition to the forum:
I think it would be a good idea for there to be a MAIN compatibility (or compatibility issues) topic for all the different mods and bots. Im not sure, however, if each bot should have its own thread, or if there should be a main topic, with each bot or mod having its own thread under this topic... If you don't understand... -which bots can be played with each other on the same server? -Issue with <X>bot when using <X>mod! -How to make <X>mod compatible with <X>mod! -<X>bot server requirements, or <X>mod server requirements: -Help! Problem when using <X>bot with <X>mod! just some sample threads that would fall under this topic... |
Re: Idea for addition to forum
Sure, that's a good idea...
however such informations change very frequently ; especially with WIP bots (*cough*RealBot*cough*). Some day it will work with another bot, some other day it won't anymore... In the end I think it's a good idea but I believe its application is left to the forum members. Why wouldn't they create a thread explaining the problems they had with a bot and what they did to fix it ? Some people do that already... I believe we should encourage this behaviour. |
Re: Idea for addition to forum
hmm this could be solved by a wikki, where all bot developers and perhaps mods could edit one document.

Re: Idea for addition to forum
I like the idea of bot testers being able to report back to the developers about their bots working or not on their various bot-testing: server configs, directory layouts, mod-compatibility, system compatibility (win/linux), etc., etc...
