Compiling a map with steam
I just finished up a rough outline of a map I'm working on, and I attempted to compile it from my steam cs folder, and I got an error saying "cannot find file or folder D:\Half-Life\Steam\SteamApps\Acidburn947@cox.bsp" with a Do you wish to continue box, and if Yes is clicked, it goes to the same thing, but with blah\Acidburn947@cox.pts.
I'm not sure as to how this problem would be fixed, and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it, or if anyone would know how to fix it. -Acidburn947 |
Re: Compiling a map with steam
Make a copy of your .wad files and all your resource files, install WorldCraft in a upper level directory (for example, "D:\Half-Life\Worldcraft" and compile your map from there. I bet it's a path length problem.

Re: Compiling a map with steam
Thanks for the input, I was thinking along the same lines, but was thinking more that it was the '.' in the e-mail address. When I have access to my computer again I'll try this and post the results. Hopefully this map will work well enough to be released to the public, unlike the other few I have made.

Re: Compiling a map with steam
my philosohpy :
G:/Worldcraft not G:/Halflife/someotherstuff/games/coolestgames/oh/Worldcraft WC does not dig long paths :) as short as possible. dont make the editor search long paths to your wads either. thus: G:/wads all the waqds you want to use in your present map should go into this G:/wads folder.....easy :) |
