PodBot Issues
 

Alright here we go.

I've been using the program w/out any problems for some time now. But just recently (2-3 days ago) I'm having loading problems. When I click on "New Game" and after selecting the new game settings I click on "Start Game". Immediately after, it quits cs and takes me back to desktop.

Note: I haven't done anything to the original podbot files to cause any loading issues.


Today: I realized there was a new podbot version and thought it might solve the problem by installing an updated version. I went through all the same procedures given in the forums on how to install etc. I made sure and replaced the old podbot folder w/new one along with metamod. Now when I click on "Start Game" it atleast goes to the load screen, but the load bar doesn't even start loading. It seems to freeze because I can't even click on "cancel" and I have to alt tab to quit the cs.

I hope someone can help me asap since I like owning bots ^ ^ Thanks!

Your case makes me think that you have a nasty virus/es. Try to clean your computer with some antivirus software. I recommend Kaspersky or Nod32, they both have trial versions, that should do the job. :)

I have essentially the same problem. Except, I click New Game and pick the map and then click ok and the game closes. No error message or anything. I can join someone else's server and play the game fine. But Creating my own game causes it to close.

Edit: This is the installation process I went through.

I found the cstrike folder in:
...program files/steam/steamapps/[username]/counter-strike/

I created addons:
...cstrike/addons

Inside of that folder are the folders:
podbot [which I downloaded and extracted from http://filebase.bots-united.com/inde...category&id=44 - the fullpack]
metamod

Inside of the metamod folder:
dlls

Inside of the dlls folder:
metamod.dll [which I downloaded and extracted from http://metamod.org/ - v1.19 windows Binary ]
plugins.ini [Which I created and put "win32 addons/podbot/podbot_mm.dll" in the notepad without quotes]

And lastly, I edited the file: liblist
Changing it --> gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll"
