i want to help you guys fix up the homepage so its nicer like the forums and also fix the buttons for each bot so its a graphic similar to your forum buttons, that way you could gain alot of space if they are layed out better.

if you guys would like that, i would code it up for you and make the button pics and show you how i think it could be

I too think that the BU index page must be updated to be like the forums style. Make the new index page on your local and if the server admin like it he will put it. :)

Alrighty then,I've had some time to code it up, and i was kind of having trouble deciding where things should go so maybe you guys can give me some feed back.

Things I'd like to do are:
1. Change bot buttons to this button stylehttp://forums.bots-united.com/images...tons/reply.gif just the white part i think though.

2. Test to see if bot buttons are more suited on the right of the logo area, colum style

3. Create 100x30 logo's for each bot creator and section/url link. ( ill be able to have a proper table style behind them after).

4. Link bot creator logo's to forum pm box

5. Thinking about having the bot creators in a main table about 70% width and then a menu type thing on the right with the mission statement and those links there at the bottum to make the layout more attractive.

6. I don't think I should keep the table with the second mascot and the welcome there now that he's at the top.

And i think you'd need some more content on there, im not sure what, maybe some flashy pictures of bots in action or somthing.

Looks good! So here my advaices. :)
The links that point the authors home pages maybe it will be better if they are in the same style as in to the forums index?
And yes it will be better to remove the second sub Mascot as you pointed and to expand the 'Welcome' box to fit the left and right sight of the screen.

and the ones in the forum index are just text, or are you talking about the search buttons like this

but i think your saying like the text links, and basicaly i wanted to get away from that and so i made the button pics (which im going to change the look of), im not familiar with vbulletin, only phpbb but i imagine its the same and uses an html file for the forum header, I'm pretty sure Nova could just grab the header part out of the homepage when its done.

so check and check on the mascot and that extra box there, i think i will make a graphic for the !! welcome !!
just gotta wait till i get home to a pc that has photoshop on it! im running win98 from work :crying: :wacko:

do you think that position might be good? and what do you think if i changed the button style to the defualt Opera tabs look or the login button with the shadow hhmmm?
those tabs are looking hot right now though just need a little digital surgery.

Thats what I thought you ment, sorry to be confusing.
I am also very hard to understand sometimes.

I understand you want to make it like the forum, but what im saying is that you change the forum buttons too.
unless you guys want the plain text links I would go with buttons, aslong as I give them an alt name, if you cant load the pictures the text will still be there.

I don't know, this buttons looks too big, too much eye taking. The text links are more... nice in this case. :) (All that is my opinion).

Maybe you can make a public poll for that request if you really want to? ;)
