Survival maps

Hi,

I'm new to the forums.

In the Splashdamage forums were some questions regarding survival maps.
(A team of humans playing against a team of bots).

I've played before with 3 humans, and 7 bots in a nightmare battle to the death with the bots before. Its actually a lot of fun!

Is it possible to add bots in dependence of the No. of human players?
For example to have a ratio of 1 human vs. 2 bots.
Is it possible to let the bots spawn at different spawn places?

Thank you for your answers in advance.

Welcome to the forums :)

At it's current state, there is no method to add / remove bots automatically based on number of human players. It can only be done with custom bot configs and manually adding / removing bots while in game.

I believe that he was working on some scriptable spawning tools (ie. setBotSpawn random), but for now it was something that he had to hardcode in for each map we needed them to not spawn all in one place.

Technically it is possible to do it in the map scripts now that we have ET Pro Map scripting support and scripted entity removal. I suppose we could remove all spawn points on a given map and create new ones. If you had a particular map in mind I can test the theory out.

Thank you for the answers.

How is the No. of the bots controlled?
Does the mod equal the teams automatically?
So that the ratio would be every time 1:1.

The maps would be "special" maps.
My idea is to surround the human team with the attacking AI team.
If the spawns can not be controlled then my idea is to place a team_WOLF_objective (as far as I remember) in the middle of the map and all the AI spawnpoints in equal distance to teh team_WOLF_objective.

Re: Survival maps

The number of bots can be controlled using the .bots files found in the ~/fritzbot/configs folder. The individual bots are team specific, so having bots only join one team is not a problem.

I believe that setting up the spawns as you describe should work.
