internal driver error in idirect3ddevice9::present()
I get this error when trying to play that new HL2 mini-expansion pack, Episode1. Drivers should be up to date, Direct X is up to 9.0c. Other Source engine games work, I don't know why EP1 isn't working. First when I tried to play it, it ran fine, up until about minutes into the game intro when it crahed to desktop and spat out that error. Now, it won't even load the first map, always crashing with that error sometime during loading. I've searched for solutions to this problem, or even what the hell the problem could be, but the best I can find is this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...9__Present.asp Which, is completely useless jargon to me. Specs: AMD Athalon 64 4000+ processor 1GB ram ATI X600 mobile graphics card My PC is well above the min specs. Mostly what I want to know is what this error means, or even what its remotely relating to. EDITO: Fixed the problem. I reinstalled DX9 and my gfx driver. Runs fine now. Still confuses me as to what was causing this, but I guess it doesn't really matter much anymore. |

Bah. Just game me that error again. Worked fine yesterday.
Oh well, the HL2 expansion pack isn't worth this much trouble. Deleted. |

Send a nasty e-mail. Don't tell them you've uninstalled, but give them your details and ask for an explanation.

Re: internal driver error in idirect3ddevice9::present()
I might, but its a pretty obscure problem. That and I'm lazy, and managed to already beat over half of the thing before I gave up.
Seems too much work for just another 2 hours of gameplay in a fairly mediocre game. |
