Can I use Shrikebot without having Steam or WON?
 

Hi,

I have an installation of CS 1.5 that I use just to play in local mode, no Internet connection and PODBot. I basically start a LAN game every time. So, I've been thinking about playing DoD in a similar fashion. Will your bot install/work for a similar setup? Of course, after I download and install DoD.

Ok, I'm still looking for an answer to my question. Have not found any information on the Internet.

Basically, if I install the full HL1-1.5 or CS-1.5, then the dod full client, can I use the latest shrikebot just like I use PODBot to play offline?

I downloaded Dod version 1.0 from planethalflife/dod and got the latest shrikebot. Installed them both, edited the liblist.gam file in the DoD folder to read the shrikebot dll. When I start the DoD game, it crashes to the desktop. Do I have the right DoD version? Should I get an older shrikebot version? :confused:

Well I'm not sure witch one is the latest DOD version that work on WON and shrikebot version that work with it, just do a little tring. :)

Well, so far I've figured out that v1.0 of DoD is newer than v3.1. I've been in IT for 12 years and that versioning scheme does not make sense to me. :cursing:

Anyway, shrikebot 2.3.1 will not load for any of those versions and it will not load for HL 1.0.0.9 or 1.1.1.0. :wacko:

Ok, I was told at Shrikebot's main forum that I won't be able to accomplish this task. I guess shrikebot never worked with earlier version of DoD prior to Steam's version.

Oh well, it was fun trying to figure it out. LOL I even went as far as unpacking DoD's gcf file, but of course, it didn't work. ;)
