A little demo showing tank support so far.

Its still pretty rough, and theres more then enough bugs, but I've made some serious headway with tank support.

So far:

1. Engs will "see" that the map has a tank, and will go fix it if its broken.

2. Other classes will sometimes decide to escort it if its not broken.

3. Bots can follow behind the tank, or actually ride in the tank.

4. They will fight/kill you with the tank's gun, then continue riding along.

Theres a LOT more work to do before I can release anything (a special extension to the FritzScript system is on its way to make pathing maps like GoldRush and FuelDump very easy to do, as well as a few other things).

But, GoldRush is on its way!

Cheers!

1. Are you talking about the jitter in the demo, or how he himself moves? The jitter was prolly because I was running stuff in the background while I was recording the demo.

2. I don't know yet - I'm experimenting if its better to be prone, or just stand and fix, while moving.

Shouldn't the engineer be lying on his back while repairing the tank, as a mechanic does when he's working on your car??? There's not much you can fix while lying on your belly!

1. its wierd how he moves around all time while escorting the tank :D
2. i dont know if possible but i would like to see it that they fix the tank while moving around it (to get away from enemies) how the most human players do.

1. Well, thats him being on the lookout for enemies. I figure thats a Good Thing(tm).

2. I'm working and experimenting with this to find the right mix.
