Server Loader Win XP Problem
I've asked this question before but got no answer. Since I'm in desperate need I ask again.
Mean Server loader launches my HLDS just fine but the Windows version of the HLDS has a dialog at execution time that requires human interaction. You may have seen it. The Dialog is captioned "Start Dedicated Server". This dialog prompts the user for "Game", "Server Name", "Map", "Network", "Max Players", "UDP Port", "RCON Password" and a checkbox to enable/disable VAC. At the bottom there are two pushbuttons: "Start Server" and Cancel. Unless this dialog is responded to, the server won't actually start. What can be done to bypass this dialog? I suspect that there are some command line options that I can have Server Loader use in the HLDS execution string but I don't know what they are. I'm leaving town for a new job away from home and I need my servers to remain up. Thanks |
Re: Server Loader Win XP Problem
Use the command line -console to prevent the GUI console from loading up with the dialog. I know, it's silly that the dedicated server GUI console requires a user action to initialize, however I have not kept up with developments and perhaps Valve has fixed this obvious problem in some way.
