CS 1.6 nightmare...
 

Hi all,

Sorry that my first post seems to be a rant but I'm have never been so frustrated b4.

First off I'm been inactive for a while and I CS 1.5 was fine till this steam stuff came along.

I have the retail version of CS and I much rather play with bots than have to deal with cheaters out there so how can I update my cs version to 1.6 and run Joebot creating a lan game.

Having installed the retail version, I then have to update it to Steam 1.6 but I can't seem to find the bit that allows me to create a lan game and having installed Joebot the game crashes...

Could some one please help me on what I should do and I tried to do a search but I can't seem to get the information I need.

Please help.

Heyyo,

Ok, first off yes you do have to install steam, to make it easier and faster just download steam with CS1.6 cached:

Then let it update.. could take a few hrs or more knowing steam (yes, many of us are also frustrated with it..)....

After that? just install Joebot. Now, I'm sure aspirin already updated his Joebot to work with the latest CS1.6 steam update that screws up pretty much all bots, if not you can nag him ti'll he does. ;)
