Dedicated server Realbot Name problems

I am using build 2065 on a 1.6 dedicated cs server.

I have everything working fine, although at the moment, the nodes file thingy I d/l for assault doesn't seem to be doing much. Not too worried about that.

The only other problem is that it is not using my names that I have specified in the rb_names.txt file. It adds bots using Realbot, <1>Realbot, ect...

I can add them using the full command: "realbot add 1 5 5 Botname", but it won't give names out of the rb_names.txt file when I just use "realbot add".

Am I missing something, is this a feature taken out, do I have something configured wrong?

Where realbot is installed? Where is your bot_names.txt?

Re: Dedicated server Realbot Name problems

You, have installed realbot in the wrong directory,
it has to be in the same level as the cstrike folder.

server
|
|-cstrike
|-realbot
|-ect.

thats why the node systen isen't working two.

Re: Dedicated server Realbot Name problems

that would also explain why it says to put "win32 ../realbot/dll/realbot_mm.dll RealBot" in your plugins.ini, I erased the two dots and the first slash thinking that I didn't need them.

Anyways, thanks for your help.

Re: Dedicated server Realbot Name problems

;) Tim explained it correctly, if you put your realbot names file there (rb_names.txt) then it should work.

Re: Dedicated server Realbot Name problems

ok, i have realbot installed:
/hlds_l/
/cstrike/
/realbot/
and my rb_names.txt is at:
/hlds_l/
/realbot/data/cstrike/bots/rb_names.txt
with all my bots names on separate lines. (linux: fedora cs 1.5 hlds here with adminmod, hookmod, statsme, and [of course] realbot.)
cept it doesn't use any of the names from rb_names.txt when i type in the console:
realbot add
can any1 help me with this? everything works like the dude b4, but i believe its installed in the right directory as shown above as well. it even made a Realbot.ini file in /hlds_l/realbot/data/cstrike/bots/ so i assume it is kinda working right. anywayz, can any1 help plz?
i did as much :RTFM: as i could find, but still doesn't work (theres practically no manual, and almost nothing on bot names)
thx!

Re: Dedicated server Realbot Name problems

o, and when i start up the server, it says:

RealBot: plugin attaching
realbot - command reserved.
Downloading Security Module from Speakeasy.net ...
Notice: RealBot is installed in the correct directory.
Priority=15Notice: Assuming you run Counter-Strike 1.5le !! So a gun is 3000, o + 200 toll
!

then continues to do its normal thing

wouldn't you know it?

it just had to work this way didn't it. after spending all that time trying to fix the problem, scoruing the net, comming here, signing up, posting, etc, etc. i make it work :(.

how i made it work:
i copied the rb_names.txt from /hlds_l/realbot/data/cstrike/bots/ into every single directory just shown there. (hlds_l, realbot, data, etc) and poof! it worked! so now i have a bunch of those all over the place - problem is i don't know which one is the one that works o_O. Stefan - i would kinda recommend you change ur readme pages, their kinda outa date, and the online one tells you to make the file rb_names.txt in the /data/cstrike/bots/ directory... anywayz, that my bit of help.. as gay as it may sound.

Re: Dedicated server Realbot Name problems

rb_names.txt goes in the base realbot directory

hlds_l/realbot/rb_names.txt

the file should feature one name per line

sample rb_names.txt ___
