help with opposing force

hey guys, long time no speak. been playing RB6-3 and hosting coop server (tango hunt) and its good tango killin fun. Unfortunatley, my power hungry 6600GT oc ate my sheap 400 watt power supply alive and i had to throw my 64 meg card back in with my old ps, so half life based games are all i can play till I get another one (I'm slummin, hehe). Anyway, this metamod/HPB bot install seems totally different than all the ones I've done for cs, so I need a little help to save time. I copied and overwrote the liblist with the backup copy that came with adminmod and I see execute admimod in console but type meta list and nothing, so no metamod (I am trying to run listen serv). Once I get admin/metamod working where exactly should I put the bot files and command line to refer to them? I know something silly is just escaping me but its been awhile since I went through all this crap, seems way diff than cs

it's essensially the same as CS, you just need to s/"cstrike"/"gearbox"/ in a CS install instructions

well, metamod is working fine but keeping badf load with bot. Tried putting the dll in multiple places, the plugin.ini is written right. Missing something silly here, need a fresh pair of eyes to enlighten me. In case I didnt mention before, this is a windows listen serv on steam with hpb 4.0

badf loads means that either the DLL is corrupt (unloadable) or that the file could not be found at the place where plugins.ini told metamod it should be. This last situation covers 99% of the cases.

Tell us facts: where exactly did you put the HPB_bot DLL, what is written in your plugins.ini, where is the HPB_bot folder, etc.

Re: help with opposing force

the dll is in addons/gearbox and I also copied it to the metamod dlls folder as well. I also tried the main opposing force folder (before gearbox). I checked the way podbot is in my cstrike folder and the dll is just in the podbot folder, nowhere else so this is strange. Maybe I can try a different dll, but i got it out of your filebase, so you'd think it would be ok, but just in case post a link if you can

Re: help with opposing force

oh, and bot folder is in opposing force/gearbox/addons and the ini reads win32 addons/hpb_bot/dlls/hpb_bot_mm.dll

I suppose you mean gearbox/addons ...

Don't compare with podbot, all bots put their DLLs where they want. There's no standard with this.

well well, is there a hpb_bot_mm.dll in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\opposing force\gearbox\addons\hpb_bot\dlls ?

Re: help with opposing force

ok, funniest thing, when the bot was installed it didnt create a hpb bot dlls folder in that directory, so I created a new folder, named it dlls, and there you go, it works. weird... well, Ive added bots to about every popular mod out there now, I got Opposing Force,CS, DOD, FA, plus TS that already came with them. Next stop, hmm, maybe gangwars if I can ever find a working link to dl it. Post a link anybody and tell if there is a working bot.
