Ok, I'll need some info on your system...
CS version
Linux distro
More detailed info about the error. When it happens, what did you do before getting the error, etc.

Please keep in mind that I know linux as much as the next guy, so I don't know if I can helo you much. I'll ask for Whistler's help on this one...

Re: Linux Install Help

well since you are not familiar with that error i hope that the Whistler guy can aid me, all i can giv eyou is that i have the NEWEST EVERYTHING = i.e. CS 1.6 and whatnot.

this error occurs with the self installer or whatever, - i am 100% positive it has to do with the .so file - its a shame your site dosent clearly state "THIS IS THE NEWEST WORKING VERSION" you seem to have about 5 versions of the podbot_mm_i386.so file or whatever....it would be great if someone could take the time to actually test one and post it when they know it will work. I am VERY familar with adding plugins and modules - this is the first time that one hasent installed smoothly. I have tried NUMEROUS podbot_mm_i386.so files. Even the one i had to download and RENAME to the correct name. So any help? Sorry if im not providing enough info for you. but be assure ALL FILES ARE IN THE CORRECT SPOTS. thank you for your time.

Re: Linux Install Help

No really ANYONE can help with this, i have tried just about EVERY .so FILE you have, including the 586 and 686's nothing for all of them

lets also add this

Quote:

[META] ERROR: ini: Plugin '<podbot_mm_i386.so>' has newer file, but unexpected status (badfile)
this is the problem EVERYTIME, the crazy thing the DATE MODIFIED was 2/15/05 so if there is a NEWER VERSION of it....where is it? that is the NEWEST modified version i have seen. EVERY file is a BADFILE

Re: Linux Install Help

Ok, dude, calm down. You won't get anywhere by flaming the forum, ok?
First of all, nobody is forcing you to use this bot. If you are really THAT much pissed off, pack up and leave.
I've asked you questions you haven't anwsered. I cannot help you if I don't know what's in your box.

Oh, and btw, I think it's a SHAME you don't know a thing about netiquette and lose your temper at the first sign of trouble. If you DO want to get some help around here, start treating people more respectfully, ok? Nobody here disrespected you when you came here asking for help, so we expect to be treated the same way.

ok 8th of all I run Forums, i check them REGULARLY, and I know you dont run these Forum, but if i post something on a Forum, im very quick to answer - i dont just diddle daddle around when I offer help. 24Hours went by b4 I posted again, so dont tell me im SPAMMIN the forums. And about your "lose my temper at the first sign of trouble" lets think about this. If im having trouble its because of POOR organization from another souce, such as....The POD BOT forum space being so very UNORGANIZED with their 30versions of this Addon as well as about 6 diffrent versions of the .so just laying around. Seriously how hard would it be to just have 3 threads
1. NEWEST WIN32 VERSION
2. NEWEST LINUX VERSION
3. OLD VERSIONS
but anywho aside from that nonsence. possibly my Provider NOT having something installed on his box is what is going on here. Since I was able to figure out that this is possibly the problem "libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3". This is aparently a widly known file for givign people problems.

As for...

Sorry I wasent clear enough with you. this is my fault.

CS = 1.6 (The Newest CS version)
Linux Distro = Have ZERO idea of what you mean (Its Linux...)
What did I do before the error = I tried installing the BOT plugin (.......)
etc = obviously all the only editing involved is the liblist.gam and the metamod plugins.ini - since i didnt have to change the liblist.gam since i already run metamod. and the PODBOT runs through metamod...all i did was add the line

linux addons/podbot/podbot_mm_i386.so

I do hope this was enough info for you. Thanks again for your time.

OK - cool down the temperature here, boys. >:(
Firts of all this forum IS organised as it's possible the best (as for our limited time). If You would read these topics first:
http://forums.bots-united.com/showthread.php?t=2273
http://forums.bots-united.com/showthread.php?t=2576
You could see there is described what You should use and what is the newest etc. Look when these topics have been started and when they were edited last time (by me, BTW). Don't You think is described OK?

Another thing is why it doesn't work for You. We will try to focus on it, but maybe we will really need someone having linux system (me and sPlOrYgOn - we are using windows).
Go to Your metamod directory and in plugins.ini file existing there disable all other plugins like statsme, AMX MOD X etc (leave only the line with podbot_mm_i386.so (or whatever is the name of podbot file for linux) call.
Check - if You have in cstrike\addons created folder called podbot and if there is that linux file You should call from plugins.ini

After starting the game write this line in console:
meta list
and show us the contents of Your screen.

Re: Linux Install Help

Install the gcc and recompile the source code will fix your problem. That's because the .so file is dynamically linked, but the other .so file (something like mfc42.dll in Windows) doesn't exist (That's actually a similar problem as "dll hell" in Windows).

*KWO
i have installed many servers both on Linux and Win32 - however these are not on my personal systems - i buy hosting service for my gaming servers. i am very well aware of metamod commands as well as an overall general awareness for server installation and maintence. i did try many troubleshooting tech. to try to solve this. i thank you for your help and i do apologize for my disruptive behavior.

*WHISTLER
i have ZERO idea of what "gcc" is this a Linux association? i have the LEAST amount of awareness in Linux. Also is this something i can do? or so i have to inform my server provider? do i have to download something to recompile the source, i.e. a recompiler for Linux? sorry that i am unaware of this.

*KASZPIR
Linux version = v1.1.2.0+ (i think thats right)

thank you all for your help as i look forward to your continued help. thank you for your time.
