bots with hlds (console mode), amxmodx and metamod
 

hey people, i need help, i have hlds and metamod and amxmodx and how do i install the bots for that? i have already installed and working amxmodx and metamod. i have windows as operating.

Do you want a dedicated server or a listenserver (a server on which you play your self also).??


In the first case, if you want a real dedicated server do you have it installed or do you use the "dedicated server" option from the steam games menu.
If you use the server from the steam menu then it won't work.
(The one in the steam menu is not the "full blown" dedicatedserver)

You have to install the "real" dedicated server.
HLDS Update Tool
This install won't be seen in the steam games menu.

So if you got that installed please let me know.

Its a dedicated server, from the "REAL" dedicated server not steam dedicated server under steam menu game. i already have amxmodx and metamod working but no the shrikebots . can u plz help me!

OK,
Use the ShrikeBot installer but intead of using the intall paths found by the installer.
Press the Browse button to select your c:\hlserver\dod\ folder.

Now to make them work with metamod do the following:
Open up the metamod config file.
c:\hlserver\dod\addons\metamod\config.ini

and add the following line :
gamedll dlls/shrikebot.dll


Or you can add this to your shortcut command line:
+localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/shrikebot.dll

Use only one of the two options. =)

*the path to your dedicated dod folder might look a little different from the above.
depends on to where you installed it.

but i cant get the shrikebot menu to open?

There is no menu in a dedicated server.
You can only give commands on the server console or via rcon.

ie.
rcon shr "addbot 1 1"
Will add a rifleman to team 1.

kk thanks but wheres the file where i put the rcon password and i get this message " rcon shr addbot 1 1
Bad rcon_password.
No password set for this server"

I thought you had metamod and amxmodx working ?
Then use the amx rcon option.

amxx shr "addbot 1 1"

AmxModX says "amxx" is the amxmodx version of the rcon command.
