where to download HLDS for GNU/Linux?
 

the fileplanet one is still the old version of CS 1.6...
and I can't use the "updater" program in GNU/Linux because of my modem card

you HAVE to install it using the updater, when you're using GNU/Linux AFAIK. If you have a 2nd PC, plug your PCI Winmodem into that one, network both and have Windows do the NAT/gateway for your Linux box.

I'm not sure about this, but can you copy the cache files from a windows machine to a linux one? If so, concider burning them all the CD, and copying them that way :)

At least then, all you would need are the executables :p
