Hello and welcome to the forum!

You can get the latest PODBot version right here, from Bots-United.

If you had read this thread, you'd know it ;)
http://forums.bots-united.com/showthread.php?t=2273

When you're new, it's a good idea to read some of the "read first" threads first - as the name suggests. :D

So go to that thread and download the package linked under point 1). It will give you all the files you need.

Now the actual bot dll is the most important file. The complete package contains an older dll, so you will habe to follow the link mentioned under point 2) in that thread to get the latest dll.

Simply overwrite the old one with it, and that's it.

You can get waypoints etc. from the Bots-United filebase, too - just poke around a bit, read some of the "read first" threads and feel free to browse the forums for more information. That's what it's there for. ;)

Good luck with the installation - you will find information on how to install the bot in the PODBot MM forum. It can be a bit tricky sometimes, so if you don't understand what you read or if something's going wrong, don't hesitate to ask.

CU! :)

Now everything works !! LOL :D

I am so happy ! Thank you verymuch for helping me !!

I just have 1 more question, what bots do YOU think are the best ??

huj 03-03-2005 01:56

Lol

Do you think that there are things that i can do to the bots to make them just perfect to play ?? Any suggestions ?? ???:(

Download good waypoints for them. >BKA< T Wrecks always does a map justice so if you can get sets of his maps waypoints, all the better. Alter them yourself if you feel they have any problem areas/areas they could be better on. I run matrix mod on my server so all movement in the air is reversed. This means I have to customise every map I run and I run a lot of custom maps as well. A good set of waypoints as a base to work from is aways helpful.

Experiment with differing levels of bots too. I find a mixed group always works well. Like any bunch of humans, a mixed group of levels means some bots will attack straight away, some will hold back and some will just camp. Just like the real thing for those on limited bandwidth!

Thx

ok thanks for your opinion :D :D :D LOL

Thanks for your opinion, too. =) You rarely get feedback as a waypointer, and even fewer people care enough to tell the difference between good and bad waypoints. Well, I guess it's my own enthusiasm and feedback like yours that keep me going. :)

Re: Can You Help Me ?

I'm not brown-nosing just in case you were wondering but all I can say is this. Good waypoints maps are a pleasure to play, bad waypointed maps can be a real pain as you try to hunt down the looping bots . . .

It was by studying a set done by >BKA< T Wrecks and a set by A N Other that I started to learn how big a difference waypoints can actually make to bot performance. Probably not the best way to learn but it worked for me as the manual at the time was less then helpful (good job on this too BTW). As I had 2 sets for Italy, I wanted to find out why some of the CT bots were getting stuck at the top of the ramp at the CT spawn in one of the versions. An outgoing path was the answer but only by looking at both did I understand why they differed. You make them jump over the railing, not try to run through it. So thanks >BKA< T Wrecks for your (unknowing and unappreciated ;) ) help. That got me started customising them for my requirements and I've not looked back.

You want better bot performance, customise the waypoints for your requirements.

Though this is just my opinion, it's right . . . lol :P

Re: Can You Help Me ?

Forgot to actually put an answer your other question. I happen to prefer Pod myself. I have tried CZbot, RealBot, Sourcebot and IvPBot. Although the teamwork is good for the Source and CZbot, it just lacks something. The newer versions of R2B45 or above are great fun to play against.
