sourceforge.net-style development pages?

Savane can be used for this:
https://gna.org/projects/savane

and so is ViewCVS for web-based version of CVS:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/viewcvs

This may be a good way for people sending bug-reports, patches, etc. for bots with source code available

edit: well, forgot to change the option to make it a public poll... so post your opinion instead (so that it will be "public"), please :)

I voted yes, these things are handy :)
ESF uses mantis(http://www.mantisbt.org/) which is pretty nice.

I think it would be best to use CVS and a file release system.

I'm not familiar enough with the options to say which software is best, however I think it would be nice to have something that is better than what we now have for file releases and open source development.

Re: sourceforge.net-style development pages?

I'm kinda lopsided on this one.. viewCVS is a great idea.. not sure about Savane though.. never really liked it (As a user or an administrator). I couldn't vote yes and no at the same time, so because i'm not 100% for the idea (more like 50%), i voted no.

However, something like mantis WOULD be good for bug reporting, (Either that or the package named 'bugs' http://bugs-bug-genie.sourceforge.net/ which i have found is VERY easy to tie into things like forum accounts so long as you have a little PHP knowledge).. But either is good by me :)
