Installing Joebot to a server

I just can't figure out how! I've tryed so many different things in the past three days i've decided to come to the "pros". I am also running Adminmod, statsme, and metamod.

When I connect to my server it says im am running Joebot v1.6.5.2 (even though I dl'd v1.6.5.3) then underneath that it says:

Waypoint file "cstr /de_dust.wpj"(in green)

"Waypoint File could not be loaded."(in blue)

If none of you know what I did wrong then could you at least tell me what I should have and where on my server to have this run correctly.

Another thing, everytime i go to add a bot my server crashes >:(

Re: Installing Joebot to a server

about the version info : we just forgot to increase the version number

havnt seen yet that the string looks so weird when the waypoint file isnt found, but right, I checked it out and it look like that.

check if the waypoints files can really be found at cstrike/joebot/wpjs/*/ . if not, you installed the bot to the wrong folder. It shouldnt be crashing without having loaded waypoints, but well, first try to get the waypoints working.

btw, which cs version ? latest metamod for that version ?

normal load should look similar to this : http://www.lampel.net/johannes/scheisse/de_dust0018.jpg

Re: Installing Joebot to a server

My waypoints are found in cstrike/joebot/wpjs/(folder names, i.e. Jack)/*

CS version 1.6
Metamod version v1.17.3
Adminmod v2.50.60
Statsme v2.8.3
JOEBOT v1.6.5.2
HLDS v4.1.1.1a

When I go to add a bot, the bot joins a team and then when it goes to restart the round it crashes. I've noticed that the bot who joins everytime is "[JoE]JoeBOT(0)". There are only two problems with this... 1. There is no JoeBOT in the botnames.txt and I have chosen not to have the skill level shown in bot.cfg.

As you can see in the screenshot it looks to me as if the program itself is looking for the waypoints in the wrong place.

Might I add that i've installed it to my server the exact same way I installed it to my PC. The only difference is that it actually works on my PC.

Re: Installing Joebot to a server

sounds like the botnames.txt is also in the wrong folder, that's because it cannot be found. note that there are 2 joebot folders, one in the HL folder, another in cstrike.

unfortunately the old wiki cannot be accessed at the moment, at least I dunno how. maybe check again if the waypoints can be found in Half-Life/cstrike/joebot/wpjs and that you didnt accidently installed the bot to the cstrike folder itself.

Re: Installing Joebot to a server

I am so confused, I am installing this onto my server, it doesn't have pre-made folders. I have to create them... When i dl'd the .zip file it had a folder named "cstrike", so I put all of its contents (not the actual folder) in my cstrike folder. so I made a cstrike folder on my server and did the exact same thing.

I can tell you where i put EVERYTHING on my server if you'd want.

Re: Installing Joebot to a server

both files should already have a filestructure included.

and you said you installed it already locally, so you can look it up there as well ... or just take that folder structure from there

Re: Installing Joebot to a server

no idea, is the server itself "offline", or do you just mean the HL server ?

maybe you overwrote your liblist.gam on your server and now metamod and stuff are not running any more ?

Re: Installing Joebot to a server

I got it, I was running the joebot, dll instead of the joebot_mm.dll :D
