If you could listen to any song...
If you could listen to ANY song AT ALL right now, what would it be?
Post lyrics so we can ridicule your minority music tastes... Please? ;) Mine would have to be Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict A Riot Watching the people get lairy Is not very pretty I tell thee Walking through town is quite scary And not very sensible either A friend of a friend he got beaten He looked the wrong way at a policeman Would never have happened to Smeaton And old Leodiensian La-ah-ah, la la lalala la Ah-ah-ah, la la lalala la I predict a riot, I predict a riot I predict a riot, I predict a riot I tried to get in my taxi A man in a tracksuit attacked me He said that he saw it before me Wants to get things a bit gory Girls run around with no clothes on To borrow a pound for a condom If it wasn't for chip fat, well they'd be frozen They're not very sensible La-ah-ah, la la lalala la Ah-ah-ah, la la lalala la I predict a riot, I predict a riot I predict a riot, I predict a riot And if there's anybody left in here That doesn't want to be out there Watching the people get lairy Is not very pretty I tell thee Walking through town is quite scary And not very sensible La-ah-ah, la la lalala la Ah-ah-ah, la la lalala la I predict a riot, I predict a riot I predict a riot, I predict a riot And if there's anybody left in here That doesn't want to be out there I predict a riot, I predict a riot I predict a riot, I predict a riot |

The Last Saskatchewan Pirate
(try not to rape this poor bugger's bandwidth too much) (I don't know who he is, but he'll probably hunt me down and kill me later) I used to be a farmer, and I made a living fine, I had a little stretch of land along the CP line But time went by and though I tried, the money wasn't there And bankers came and took my land and told me ";fair is fair"; I looked for every kind of job, the answer always no ";Hire you now?"; they'd always laugh, ";we just let twenty go!"; The government, the promised me a measly little sum But I've got too much pride to end up just another bum. Then I thought, who gives a damn if all the jobs are gone? I'm gonna be a PIRATE on the river Saskatchewan!!! (Arrr! Arrr! Arrr! Arrr! Arrr!!) Cause it's a heave-ho, hi-ho, comin' down the plains Stealin' wheat and barley and all the other grains It's a ho-hey, hi-hey farmers bar yer doors When ya see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores Well, you'd think the local farmers would know that I'm at large But just the other day I found an unprotected barge I snuck up right behind them and they were none the wiser, I rammed their ship and sank it and I stole their fertilizer! A bridge outside of Moosejaw spans a mighty river Farmers cross in so much fear their stomachs are a-quiver Cause they know that TRACTOR JACK is hiding in the bay I'll jump the bridge and knock them cold and sail off with their hay! Cause it's a heave-ho, hi-ho, comin' down the plains Stealin' wheat and barley and all the other grains It's a ho-hey, hi-hey farmers bar yer doors When ya see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores Well, Mountie Bob he chased me, he was always at my throat He'd follow on the shoreline cause he didn't own a boat But cutbacks were a-coming and the Mountie lost his job And now he's sailing with us, and we call him Salty Bob! A swingin' sword, a skull and bones and pleasant company I never pay my income tax and screw the GST (SCREW IT!!) Prince Albert down to Saskatoon I'm the terror of the seas If you wanna reach the co-op, boy, you gotta get by me! Cause it's a heave-ho, hi-ho, comin' down the plains Stealin' wheat and barley and all the other grains It's a ho-hey, hi-hey farmers bar yer doors When ya see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores Arrrr, Metis! Get it? Matey? (Hey, that's Riel-ly funny! You know, Louis Riel?) Well, Pirate life's appealing but you just don't find it here, I've heard that in Alberta there's a band of buccaneers They roam the Athabaska and sail to Fort McKay And you're gonna loose your stetson if you have to pass their way! Well, winter is a-comin' and a chill is in the breeze My Pirate days are over once the river starts to freeze I'll be back in springtime but now I have to go I hear there's lots of plundering down in New Mexico! Cause it's a heave-ho, hi-ho, comin' down the plains Stealin' wheat and barley and all the other grains It's a ho-hey, hi-hey farmers bar yer doors When ya see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores Cause it's a heave-ho, hi-ho, comin' down the plains Stealin' wheat and barley and all the other grains It's a ho-hey, hi-hey farmers bar yer doors When ya see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores When ya see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores... Edit: Theres two versions of the song, one by Arrogant Worms and another by Captain tractor. Lyrics here are from the AW's version, song link is the version by CT, the better one. |
Re: If you could listen to any song...
Heyyo,
Noo doot aboot it: Tenacious D - Tribute :D [spoken] This is the greatest and best song in the world... Tribute. Long time ago me and my brother Kyle here, we was hitchhikin' down a long and lonesome road. All of a sudden, there shined a shiny demon... in the middle... of the road. And he said: [sung] "Play the best song in the world, or I'll eat your soul." (soul) [spoken] Well me and Kyle, we looked at each other, and we each said... "Okay." [sung] And we played the first thing that came to our heads, Just so happened to be, The Best Song in the World, it was The Best Song in the World. Look into my eyes and it's easy to see One and one make two, two and one make three, It was destiny. Once every hundred-thousand years or so, When the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow And the grass doth grow... Needless to say, the beast was stunned. Whip-crack went his schwumpy tail, And the beast was done. He asked us: "(snort) Be you angels?" And we said, "Nay. We are but men." Rock! Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh-ah-ah, Ohhh, whoah, ah-whoah-oh! This is not The Greatest Song in the World, no. This is just a tribute. Couldn't remember The Greatest Song in the World, no, no. This is a tribute, oh, to The Greatest Song in the World, All right! It was The Greatest Song in the World, All right! It was the best muthafuckin' song the greatest song in the world. [2-part skat] [spoken] And the peculiar thing is this my friends: the song we sang on that fateful night it didn't actually sound anything like this song. [sung] This is just a tribute! You gotta believe me! And I wish you were there! Just a matter of opinion. Ah, fuck! Good God, God lovin', So surprised to find you can't stop it. [skat] All right! All right! Ok, to tells you guys the truth, there's 2 versions of the song Tribute, the original, and the CD version. Here's the oringinal, starting from after it says "The Best Song in the World, it was The Best Song in the World." Ahh, aaahhh, and it saved our butts... be cause the demon wanted to kill us nooo... Be he was forced to set us free by the honor code that demons, have to live by. Cause it's satan's suprise and it's magic, and it's a mystical disguise.. [small skat] The devil's song and it's tragic... you are the mistycal eyed-virgin, and you're rockin'! at least once every 2 months, I listen to Tenacious D songs only for a day... it's great stuff. I've ripped a lot of music from some live shows, the tenacious D show episodes (high quality from the Tenacious D Masterworks DVD that I ripped myself for only my listening pleasure :)). The D will always be the band for me, so LONG LIVE THE D! ;) [EDIT] Oh, a close second song is "Tenacious - Wonderboy" such a hard rockin', beautiful song... I've actually cried listnin' to it it's soo damn beautiful. :P |

Skyclad - You Lost My Memory
(from the album Folkémon, 2000) Unstoppable force and immovable object, repel one another when by chance colliding. The Brownian-Motion within this love potion, ensures our opinions are always dividing. I am from Mars my dear; you hail from Venus. A meeting star-crossed like the Sun and the Moon. Destined to let this cruel world come between us. Our last kiss eclipsed by a shadow at noon. A rose that is built out of music by moonlight; petals stained ruby with nightingale blood. Cast down in disgust to be crushed by a cart-wheel, because of mere trivia misunderstood. We quest for a grail of illusive perfection, each hoping we'll find it some glorious day. Yet gaze with remorse at our jaded reflection, that looks like The Picture Of Dorian Gray. [Chorus:] Siamese Twins who were joined at the heart. Love's an affliction without a known remedy. Blunt-bladed fate deemed to cleave us apart; Emotional surgery pays no indemnity. Some seek release with effete anaesthesia, others adapt to the role of sworn enemy. You found nepenthe in cheap, sweet amnesia; It was far easier losing my memory. And the nightingale sang: "Sing love's lament with a thorn at your breast. Impaled by her barb; cruel and unforgiving. A million dead poets would gladly attest; heart-ache's a keepsake to remind us we're living." [Chorus:] Siamese Twins who were joined at the heart. |

Alice In Chains - Rooster
Ain't found a way to kill me yet Eyes burn with stinging sweat Seems every path leads me to nowhere Wife and kids household pet Army green was no safe bet The bullets scream to me from somewhere Here they come to snuff the rooster Yeah here come the rooster, yeah You know he ain't gonna die No, no, no, ya know he ain't gonna die Walkin' tall machine gun man They spit on me in my home land Gloria sent me pictures of my boy Got my pills 'gainst mosquito death My buddy's breathin' his dyin' breath Oh god please won't you help me make it through Here they come to snuff the rooster Yeah here come the rooster, yeah You know he ain't gonna die No, no, no ya know he ain't gonna die -------------- But this really needs the music along wiht it. |
