WIP 3061: about performance/fps decrease
I figured out why the performance/fps suddenly decrease in WIP 3061, it's because of the creation of large rbx (realbot experience) file(s). I figured this out when I was comparing Realbot's experience file with PODBot's experience file. I noticed that there is a large difference between the two because Realbot's experience file is over 2MB, while PODBot's experience file is under/less than 110/100KB.
When I deleted the rbx (realbot experience) file, the game ran smoothly than before. If my theory is correct then the performance/fps decrease can be eliminated if the size of an rbx (realbot experience) file is decreased. BTW, correct me if I'm wrong because it's just my opinion and observation. :D |

Re: WIP 3061: about performance/fps decrease
I don't know how sPlOrYgOn did it ???:( , but I'm sure his engine is compressing the experience file, then decompresses it when the game is about to start.

Re: WIP 3061: about performance/fps decrease
I dont think the filesize matters. Since in normal memory it would be the same. (ie, even if he loads the compressed file, then decompresses it, it is the same size in memory...)
Perhaps there is some bug in the experience saving/using/ code, therefor causing a slow-down at the longer terms. |
Re: WIP 3061: about performance/fps decrease
But then again, if the PODBot engine decompresses a 100/110KB file it might only be at 300/500KB or less.
But I guess maybe your right :D . |
Re: WIP 3061: about performance/fps decrease
same problem with build 3062?

Re: WIP 3061: about performance/fps decrease
btw, and you (ry spy) cannot compare all those experience files. each bot stores different data in different ways. And some bots don't even distiguish between waypoint and experience files
And when the bot actually uses the data, it's already decompressed, that's normally done when the waypoint data is loaded. |
