Navmesh issues
Today while I was testing my little bot project with navmesh in the map de_piranesi , when the T spawn on the boat , my DLL report that the boat the bot is standing on IS NOT ON THE WORLDSPAWN entity ! How can something like this happen ? Maybe the worldspawn entity not fully initialized or any of you guys have any idea about this bloody bug ?

Re: Navmesh issues
Looks like Whistler were right.
You are (3)COLORS, you are using an anonymous proxy, and once again you are trying to rip RACC. The only bot to display such an error message is mine. If it were yours, you would understand what it means since you're supposed to have written it, right ? And note that if I publish templates for developers to download, that's I expect AT LEAST a minimal bit of comprehensive work when someone wants to use it. Not just plain ripping, compile and play. Anyway, you were banned several times, so banned you will stay. --- In case others are wondering what he's talking about, it's that my bot's navmesh (which can be seen like a mosaic of the walkable surfaces of a map) is only built from the main map entity (worldspawn). The problem is that although the worldspawn entity naturally supports 99% of the surfaces, it is not the only entity to feature polygonal meshes. There are additional entities in the map which can be walked on. Like crates that can explode in de_dust-style maps, or in this example the boat in de_piranesi. The navmesh doesn't take these surfaces in account because they do not belong to the worldspawn entity. There are several ways of working around this problem, which are left as an exercise to the reader. If you ask why [CS]m16 alias (3)COLORS is banned, have a search in the forum for (3)COLORS and you'll figure out who this kid is and what's his favourite hobby. We don't want such people here. |
Re: Navmesh issues
OMG, will this never stop? How many times do you have to run head-first into a wall before the pain tells you to try something different for a change? :| Sheesh...

Re: Navmesh issues
Heyyo,
Lol! I rember downloading that CS-AI n' thinking, "wow, this kids pretty good at coding." n' then thinking "Ahh god, my computer's been defiled! a ripoff!" :P Well, at least if he tries to ripp off RACCbot, we'll know for sure cause it won't shoot (For now at least) eh? ;) BTW, where'd you release your source? I wanna see your flashy movement of bots.. n' resist the urge to kill them before entirely seeing them in action. N' you have my word PM, I will not try to rip you off, I have too much respect for your work, n' it's just, unethical too. :) We should hold bets now to see what's the next bot he tries to ripoff.. my money's on PODbotv2.6mm. :P |
Re: Navmesh issues
@MarD: looks like you lose your money :D
he's now ripped off the navigation system of TEAMBot and also the personality sytem of TEAMBot.. Most likely it's just a rip of TEAMBot with less features... I'm not going to link to it... cs-ai.co.nr [edit] I think I found someone registered at his forums... :D Rifleman is probably okay.. at least he was able to convert podbot to HI I remember Rifleman must be (3)color's brother because he's the only one who knows how to code (at least that is what he said) and his brother knows nothing.. I think we can let Rifleman stay... bomberman used to be Rifleman's account but his brother probably logged in and said something to make us ban him... [/edit] |
Re: Navmesh issues
Heyyo,
Aww man, I was almost sure he'd rip yours off.. oh well, maybe it's realbot next then? :P There's only one good CS-AI, n' it's a website for educating people aboot the many CS bots... too bad the last update was sometime in may 2002. I used to love it. It's where I discovered PODbot, Wbot, n' most importantly, RACCbot. :D http://www.geocities.com/prohardltd/cs-ai/index.html Hey... wait a tick... HE RIPPED OFF THE CS-AI NAME TOO! LMAO!!! :P |
Re: Navmesh issues
Heh, makes me wonder if I released the src to Fritz - would
he rip that off too?!? :D :P |
