I tend to agree, I have 1mb broadband, so i dont have a problem, but, Valve no longer supply individual downloads. Due the constant updating of games in which Steam performs, i can see some users waiting for at least 1hr DAILY to play their favourite games. If i were in their shoes, i'd rather not have to wait.

Not daily... More like monthly. And with Steam, the updates can be very small files that take only seconds to download, even on 56k.
