Playable RACC available?
Hello Pierre!
Your "bots united"-forum is really great - as I thought from the beginning :D I'm testing Stefan's WIP-versions of the RealBot (he dows really great work) and try to give feedback all the time (he surely is nerved of me already 9_9 ) I'm very fascinated of the A.I. development... I'd also like to test other bots for CS - I've METAMOD.DLL installed, and also STATSME and PLAYERNAME, so it might not be a problem to add your RACC bot DLL or other METAMOD-bots, am I right? Your homepage gave me lots of very interesting information - so the development of your bot has a very scientific *sympathic*:D touch (little bit more than the RealBot), with the hole image recognition and pathfinding things.=) I'd really like to test your bot! :P Is it possible? Your Download Page is a little bit confusing (features not added, different packs etc.) - probably that's the cause, that your bot doesn't seem to be popular. And what's the matter with the other bots? (I should take a look at them) |
Re: Playable RACC available?
hey, it is not "my" forum, it is "our" forum... meaning, it is "your" forum too :)
Besides I'm just the elected president of a council of five weirdos, so thank the aforementioned weirdos for bringing up such a cool forum. I know people are awaiting for a release, and I am perfectly aware that the last "release" (which was a "preview") of my bot is pretty much 2 years old. It desesperates me sometime not to have 20 fingers each hand and 4 brains to code fastest! I'm not a l33t coder you know, unlike Joe or Stefan, I can't line up a single line of code without writing an authentic bug. It takes time to fix all that. And I'm a perfectionist too, hence I often redo things again and again as long as I can find better ways to do them. Besides, the whole bot is being rewritten almost for scratch. I'm currently working my ass off, more than ever, to have something playable released soon. Promised! |
Re: Playable RACC available?
OK - I meant with YOUR forum the german word "Euer"... I know that this isn't only "Deine" Arbeit.
How can I translate "Euer" in English??? And "Dein"??? It's the same, I think... Now I've to read the rest... |
Re: Playable RACC available?
Hello Pierre!
OK - I'll wait for the release of your bot and I'm very curious, what you are cooking in your DLL kitchen :D Perfectism is good, but too much perfectism is blocking - so if you wait to release something until it has NO bugs, than you can wait long, because I think that NOTHING has NO BUGS! I know, what bugs mean - I hate those tiny bugs, which always come, if you don't expect it, and only come every 10 hours. These bugs are the hardest, as audio software egineer. And even TUSS ain't work. >:( You could take it like Stefan with his WIP versions... I'm sure, you are doing your best for your bot and I'm looking forward to the first tests with it, Best wishes, |
Re: Playable RACC available?
Hi Pierre!
First, I have to say: great side, great Plugins! But most of the plugins have a problem with the new Metamodversion, no errors, but a message at startup. The endroundplugin do not work, if you have a Realbot in play, my lanserver is using Pod, ePod, pox and Realbot. I had your bot too, but most time they "camped" in a corner, looking at the wall ;-) (template 1, the second didn't work for me) |
Re: Playable RACC available?
Btw Pm, if you need a beta tester, my computer and me are here! :)

Re: Playable RACC available?
I'll remember it, Fiber. Furthermore you're a coder too so it will definitely be worth the go. Thanks in advance ! :)

Re: Playable RACC available?
I have exam soon, but I've found time to take a look on your code... seems very interesting, and not as difficult as I thought... thx to you.
But your code is much easier to read than aspirin one :)... :D |
Re: Playable RACC available?
Raaahah... I can't wait for this release... :P

Re: Playable RACC available?
Fiber, I might send you soon a DLL to test the cognitive system of the bots... more on this later :)
