Scoped Rifles...bots do not zoom or shoot them at all?
 

Hello,

I am running the latest podbot_mm.dll that was dated 06/29/2004 on my CS dedicated server.

I have used a few of the versions that were dated before this and I get the same result.........

The bots will never zoom any of the sniper rifles and worse yet, they will not attempt to no scope enemys or switch to the pistol.

I have disabled BOT buying of all sniper rifles so that they at least do not start out with them but even when I set maxweaponpickup to 0, they still pick up the darn things. I have even put all of the sniper rifles at the bottom of the priority list and again, they are still picking them up.

I have seen some posts where people reported that the bots do in fact zoom and shoot but I have not seen it yet. I have also read the same reports that I have found.

I mean, the only reason I have done the measures above is because what good is just having a BOT running around if it is not going to shoot? I would love to have them use the sniper weapons but I am at a loss here.

try awp_map...
they will scope and shoot..
they will only scope if the enemy is far enough..
as for them not shooting.. I dunno...

this is an age old bug i mentioned a few time but didn't put much emphasis on, it been since pmb's codeings

-bot's will zoom but rarely (bots need to zoom for enemy as well as checking for enemies far away)

-bots never switch to pistols which scoped wepons...(they need to do so when runnng and when enemy is near)


i think if it wrks on the awp map....then the distance is set too far for the enemy and so u will not proabaly see it happen on other maps

there should be 3 levels :

ie: for de_dust ct standing at top of ramp at ct spawn with awp\pistol..

t anywhere on or ner begining of ramp ct should use pistol
t anywhere between beg of ramp and arch pistol or zoom1
t anywhere further than arch zoom1 or zoom2

no...
I've seen them zoom all the way when the CT at that sniper camp spot and when T at the double doors on the other side..

yes they do zoom but not always......and the never use pistols

or even drop the scoped guns on de_rats i saw 2 bots tyring to grab the ak47 and a m4A1 but they never droped thier scoped wepons so they just kept jumping up and down on the gunsand going in circles

the reason for that is that they keep trying to switch to their primary so they can drop it but something else is making them switch to a different gun..

they already had thier primarys out which is why i was confused and the were standing infront of the gun they want but couldn't get it....

i'll try do some testing on this later.

but yeah i think the pistol switch definetly needs to be fixed...

I've seen it happen..
it's when you see them switching weapons very rapidly while jumping up and down on top of another weapon...

We do not play awp_map and do not want to run it just because that is a map that the bots actually zoom on.

I have been running PODBOT on our server since you showed me the way sPlOrYgOn and we only run aztec, dust, dust2, and inferno and no one has *ever* seen the bots scope with a sniper rifle, shoot the sniper rifle without the scope, or even change to a pistol when the primary is a sniper rifle.

If it cannot be fixed or is not an issue that is being looked at, can you give me some input as to why a bot will drop an AK/M4 and pick up an AWP when this is what our botweapons.cfg looks like (the spaces between 12 and 25 are not really there.....it is just a forum thing I guess)?
and why if I have this set like this:
Why do bots still pick up different weapons when I am saying they are not allowed to pick up any. This is my combatant to them not shooting the AWP. If I restrict them from buying it which that is working, I do not want them to pick up AWP's if they are going to just run around aimlessly with them and just be a target. But I still do not know why they would pick up an AWP or any scoped rifle because as you can see, I have them at the bottom of the priority list.

I see...
this code would make it so that if you set maxweaponpick up to lets just say 4 it would allow the bot to pick up 5...
1 more than what was specified..
