Build 3050 versus Wip#9 gives me Huge Resources Usage on AMD XP2400 Linux Server.

can you be a little more specific?
ie, output of of mem/cpu usage and number of bots etc. make sure there weren't any other unexpected processes. I too have experienced problems with my linux server using 100% cpu.

With pleasure.

My server having all other configurations the same
(inclusiv the same map: de_dust):
1. If I use Wip#9 (2 bots), no humans, CPU usage aprox. 2%
2. If I use Build 3050 (2 bots), no humans, CPU usage goes up to aprox. 45%

No big difference in memory usage.

Interesting thread. I've been looking at the Server Admins forum and they have promised a new release of the Linux server .so It will be released next week I think by normal steam update. It promises to reduce the cpu load on servers for Linux servers....now where did I save that link? Anyway, expect a Steam Linuux update possibly next week.

45% cpu usage!? omg. Well i did change some things, but THAT much!? I wonder how it will be after a steam update again.

I get it too... I used to be able to play if I ran my Win32 dedicated server on the same machine as CS, now I can't.

YES, thats something i saw on that computer of a friend of mine too. We used to create a Dedicated server, and then join it both, but when my friend joins his own game (same computer running the server), the game LAGS like hell (supe rhigh pings).. even without bots btw, (though realbot.dll running)..

so it could be CS or STEAM.. omg.

There IS a bug with the newest Steam update... Go to the AMXX forums to read about it. (That's where I heard about it.)
