Pathway delete
This will probley require the waypoint code to be rewriten but it is something to think about.
Could you add a command to remove ALL the pathways to a waypoint. I would use this a lot when your adding waypoints and you only want 1 path to it but you have like 10 connecting to it. It is a real hassel to delete each one. |

/scratches head
1. Insert all waypoints around 2. Turn apmd off by setting it to zero 3. Insert the one WP to rule them all 4. Manually add the one connection you want to lead to this WP 5. Turn apmd back on 6. Marry the princess and live happily ever after |
Re: Pathway delete
yeah I thought it as possible

Re: Pathway delete
Well, I guess somehow it's always a question of either adapting your own way of working to the program or adapting the program to your way of working... both ways are possible, it's just a question of what's easier or better to adapt. Of course, the answer to this question highly depends on each person's individual taste. Personally I think that the option you proposed is not necessary, but a) that's just my personal opinion and b) the WP editor has apparently been made to work in a way that goes well with my way of working. Lucky me. :D
Any "neutral" opinions from other folks? C'me on, I know there are more guys out there who are making WPs... Huntakillaz, KWo? |
Re: Pathway delete
lol actually i wouldn't mind, something like this..i'm lazy i already got apmd menu binded i can easly go zero and back but i never do....this would be faster :)

Re: Pathway delete
Hm... ok, I'm not really convinced that adding a WP without apmd adjustements, deleting all connections from/to it and then manually drawing the one desired connection is really faster, but so far it's 2:1 for this "delete all connections" command. If a majority is in favour of this solution, sPlOrYgOn says it's ok to code AND if there's room in the WP menu (w/o changing all numbers or creating too many sub-levels), I'll be the last one to object. After all, I don't have to use this if I don't like it.

Yes, this can be faster - if You can bind some extra key for "Delete all path incomming/outgoing" (this new function) , for some existing WP it can be fatser - use one key to delete all path of this WP,cache this WP by second key, go to this WP You want connection, use third key to open menu add path and select something (forth key). If You want Your way - first You have to delete WP (first key), set apmd to 0 (second key), place new WP (third and fourth key), cache this new WP (fifth key), go to this WP you want to connect and use sixth key to open "add path" submenu, and select something by seventh key. But this can be useful only in the situation You want exactly one connection to this selected and existing WP. So how much of time will You save during waypointing one map? In normal waypointing You try autopathmax distance set to this value that placed WP connects only WP's closest to this placed. For this You can use some binded key, too. Other things - 1. I don't have more free keys to have possibility bind a new function. :D 2. This situation described by biohazerd87 I can see during my waypointing exceptionally, so to solve this situation I don't think we need ask coders.;) This is my private opinion. Yes - if coders want to do this for some lazy waypointers - why not? So becasue of this 2:2 maybe wait for deciding vote of SF - he do much more for waypointing than me - so let SF give deciding vote for this.:) |
