liblist.gam
why do you have to make the liblist.gam file read only? i don't because i run the activatecs1.6, then go into the game and everything works fine. what does making it read only do exactly? i'm guessing nothing big because everything works fine for me.

Re: liblist.gam
I suppose making the liblist.gam read-only is suggested because Rb installation will overwrite some line(s) in it. In the installation guide it says that you should write-protect your liblist.gam if you're running a dedicated server with AdminMod, because in that case, your liblist.gam will point to the MetaMod or AdminMod dll instead of to the normal gamedll. If you overwrite this when installing RB, your mod will be deactivated, and you'll have to change everything manually again... at least that's what I guess they mean. I'm not a RealBot user, so excuse me if I'm wrong...

Re: liblist.gam
ya i guess the read-only file doesn't really do much for me because i had to make my own liblist.gam file because i didnt have one before. because of that, it is only set up for realbot and it doesnt make a difference. thanks for your post :)

Re: liblist.gam
i use 1.5, so i dont make mine read-only.
but i believe they said to do that because steam likes to change things and ruin your life. or at least it was a few versions ago. so steam messed with the liblist.gam file and made realbot not work properly. if u make it read-only, then steam cant mess with it and realbot should work fine. |
Re: liblist.gam
yes. The write-protection is because STEAM overwrites the liblist.gam with its own version each time you launch a game. I don't know if they changed this already, but i'd rather keep it safe here ;)

Re: liblist.gam
you can also start CS 1.6 with -dll blahblah.dll parameter instead of changing the liblist.gam
