RealBot + Steam = shit
 

I can't get my RealBot to work with Steam.

I’ve installed and activated it several times according to the guide on the homepage.

But still…..

The symptoms are that in Counter-Strike, there’s no sign that RealBot is installed. No commands work in the console and the Bot menu button H doesn’t work.

Does someone know what might be wrong?

What version are you using? Is it the WIP metamod plugin or the regular version 1.0 release?

Changed topic name into a more decent 'result' (according to our rules we do not allow words like that).

I am quite suprised to see such a question with no background information:

1) how did you install it?
2) where did you put it? What did you do?
3) Which version? (WIP? RB AI V1.0?)
etc.

some more information would help.

It's the RealBot AI version 1.0

I Installed/unpacked it to c:/program/Steam/SteamApps/Rulfas747@hotmail.com/counter-strike



I did activate it with the file for 1.6..



I used the online readme for both installation and usage....



I did try several of the console commands, only response was for example rb_addbot 1 is not a known command….



Should I try to reinstall it?

your procedure is okay, there is one thing though that is new since the latest steam upgrades.

do this:
- get out of steam if you are not already
- activate realbot again
- go to counter-strike\cstrike
- find the liblist.gam file
- right-click on it, go to properties, then turn on "Read only"
- click ok
- try again.
