SturmBOT requires a new home
SturmBOT is for Half-Life mod Day of Defeat (DOD).
How does this voting system work? How do we organize the new home? Thanks, Gooofy :) |
Re: SturmBOT requires a new home
well first you should be aware that Bots-United is not a free hosting service ;)
we are an organisation with targets, one is to unite the bot developers and users, amongst the things done to unite, is supporting developers with hosting and stuff, but (there is allways a but *g*) you should be prepared to support the organisation with some of your time and efford, atleast as far as you can afford the extra time for it :-) To trigger a council decision, you must make a _public_ poll in the agora, asking the _council_ to vote on your poll. After a posive vote you tell me what you need and i will setup ftp, webspace and email for you (also a mysql db, if needed) and will be prapared to help you getting your stuff running. any more questions :) just ask here |
Re: SturmBOT requires a new home
Is it that SturmBot requests to be part of Bots United ? That's great news :)
What Onno means is that you first have to introduce yourself (not all the users here are supposed to know SturmBot and the SturmBot team). Then, one important thing that we would really much appreciate, is that in the case the SturmBot website moves to Bots United, the SturmBot forums (if there is an official forum for this bot) moves here as well and be part of our board. We can give all the SturmBot team all the moderator privileges they want inside the SturmBot forums and create as many subforums as needed, but in order to unite the community it is needed and easily understandable that all the people need to hang out at the same place. This include the offtopic/fun stuff/chit chat boards, IRC discussions, etc. In short: we hate communautarism. If everyone does his own cooking in his own little corner, unity will be very hard to achieve. That said, we're quite democratic ; hence if you're representing the SturmBot team, post your request with a public poll here in the Agora and wait for the comments :) Welcome to Bots United anyway! |

Re: SturmBOT requires a new home
i thought the developer was Jowo as well. In fact, i mailed him about BU 2 times and he never replied... (and i did not get a bounced e-mail so i assumed they arrived perfectly)

Re: SturmBOT requires a new home
Well yeah it's jowo.
I played sturm bot in the past. (long time ago) But the last update is over a year ago. 9_9 However id like to see more bots that support non CS ;) |
Re: SturmBOT requires a new home
Yes, Jowo is the developer for Sturmbot.
I am his sidekick only, doing waypoints and support. I am only gathering information to present to Jowo as this site can offer to him. |

Re: SturmBOT requires a new home
Well, i think a DoD bot on this site is great. I used it all the time for playing DoD with my friends. Although this new bot we have on BU should also be worth mentioning! :)
I'd say, if he is still active, he'd present himself and what he wants (because hosting only, well, i don't know if thats we are here for.). |
