Understanding waypointing??
(((((I want to regard my thanks to Pierre for fixin my problem)))))
I have a question about waypointing i know how to place the waypoints but i dont understand a few things for example:: 1. i am not sure how to get the paths correct where the bots go from one waypoint to the other waypoint? 2. i dont understand pathwaypoints? other than it has something to deal with 1 And any help will be well helpful And plz excuse my terrible 10 year old typing/English |

here's the info: 1. the paths are usually automatic, unless you have them turned off. Rather not turn them off unless you are doing something very special where you will manually add the path later. 1a. Yellow path between waypoints is a 2-way connection(bot can go to and from). 1b. White path between waypoints is a 1-way connection(bot can only go to) 1c. Brown path between waypoints means there is a 1-way connection coming TO the waypoint you are standing on..... 1d. Red path between waypoints is signaling a jump sequence......if you see the red......that means the waypoint you are on.....is the jump start. 2. Pathwaypoints are the above described. to add and delete these paths.....you type pwp del n, n=the node number of a specific waypoint. pwp add n you can also set the distance in with the autopath function sets its paths.....the default max distance is 256.....if you change it to..lets say....100...only waypoints really close to it will automatically connect. the command to set the max distance is ap setradius n, n=the distance to be set (low number = short path) there is a menu with preset Autopath max distances do this : bind "anykey" "wpmenu apmd" then use that key to call up the menu of presets.....and use the corresponding number. you will understand how it works when you use it :) i have these things binded to a key : wpmenu all wpmenu setradius wpmenu flags wpmenu apmd wp add wp delete if you bind those 6 things to a key (and maybe autowaypoint on and off) you will be doing fast waypoints once you get used to the binds :) if you have more questions please just simply ask :) Hope this helped you. |
Re: Understanding waypointing??
oh cool the new commands :D
i've only waypointed with podbot v2.5 |
Re: Understanding waypointing??
ty for info and
i still have one question now with this information ?? 1>>> Is that for every bot or just certain ones for example (i would like info on (nicebot or joebot))?? // If possible Also how do u make sure they go to that waypoint because i had done this as u said or kinda like it and they just stayed in one spot is any helpful tips for beginners like me..9_9 |
Re: Understanding waypointing??
this is for our podbot 2.6 metamod plugin.....not podbot 2.5........
this does not apply to any other bot......only yellow white and red.....and none of the special menues cuz in 2.5 theres only one menu...... i dont understand whats not working for you......you place 2 waypoints and they should auto connect.......which means a bot will navigate between them automatically........ if the bot is stuck...you may have saved the waypoint with errors..... there needs to be a CT important, a T important, and at least one goal waypoint for it to save......all things must be connected too.....if its not like this the bot wont work right.......so dont save with "no check" |
Re: Understanding waypointing??
also make sure that every little place on the map has waypoints
|
Re: Understanding waypointing??
hes not that far yet but yeah :)
oh and btw dude .......about why and what to do with certain special waypoints and flags.......:RTFM: .......it was written to explain things.......and some common mistakes for new waypointers to avoid.......its REALLY useful for you......o_O |
Re: Understanding waypointing??
alright thank u again and hope i get it with this
info accomplish waypointing (hopefully) would be bad to know that i am tryin to waypoint for nicebot 1.3.1 tho?? And i might add a few more questions eventaully after progressing |
Re: Understanding waypointing??
np man......i have only waypointed podbot......i dont know about nicebot at all.....never seen the set up.......
couple of hints: make sure you have only 2 waypoints going exacly straight through doorways...one on each side of the door make sure a normal waypoint is always directly in front of the first bottom ladder waypoint....no angled connections......and the top normal waypoint above the top ladder waypoints should not be too close to the ladder......or else the bot may falll down...... watch your pathwaypoints when waypoint around any corner......the connections should not be cutting the corner.......or running past any object very closely otherwise the bot will get stuck in these areas good clean connections = good waypoint |
Re: Understanding waypointing??
This just came to my mind:
You can define waypoints where the bot should crouch. The bot moves to and from this waypoint crouched. If you place those crouch waypoints right before the ladder waypoints would the bot still crouch while he climbs the ladder? FYI: If you crouch while you climb a ladder you will make no noise (CS1.6 only)... |
