Should the metamod POD Bot have its own forum?

There's a fair amount of activity and interest with the POD Bot 2.6 "fix up" project that PMB has been working on.

From what I see, it deserves full bot status and I am proposing that it should go into its own forum with the rest of the bots.

Thoughts?

I doubt this project deserves a real forum. Once the bot will have recovered the same performance level as POD-bot 2.5 and all the bugs will have been fixed, I will stop updating it, simple. People will be free to do whatever they want with it but it won't be anyone of my business after that. The time I am currently dedicating each day to this project, I don't intend to keep it up forever, and especially not in moderating a new forum. If you have another moderator under the hand, then open this forum, it's OK with me ; but I don't want to inheritate of this task.

I guess the ideal solution would be that someone takes over the bot after I stop it (which will happen very soon). :)

PMB, I expected that you did not want to assume responsibility for this project - I think you said this already somewhere, so the idea I had in mind is that some one else volunteer for moderator. All the moderators kind of chip in anyway, so I don't see moderating a new POD forum being an issue to worry about.

Also, refering to the open source discussion. I think the POD 2.6 project should be turned over to Bots United and placed into an open source repository so anyone can work on it further. I agree with you, open sourcing it as a bots united project is the ideal solution.

I can help moderate it if you want. I've been in the bot scene ever since it started in NuclearBox, although I haven't coded anything.

The interest is there. Look at the post count.
It will be supported even after you stop PM.
Just in terms of organizing this should be in a new fourm,
IMHO.

OK, well, then I suppose any Council members interested in opening a new forum for this bot may open a poll in the moderator's forum... but I believe we should wait for the source repository to be up.
