contact with map
hi there, i have a question that seems complex in first place, but probably i dont have all the concepts. i want to create a behavior for the bot, for when it walks to a maps edge or toward a wall; what i want the bot to do is to keep a distance from the edge/wall and also to change the movement direction so it wont try to keep going forward to the obstacle.
since that maps edge/wall is an obstacle i was reading here that the edge/wall shape information is BSP data, but i only know how to handle things using traces. also considering that the map geometry has many forms. but in this case i dont really have a concrete idea for tracing. maybe you know some math to apply in this case? any help is welcome |

Hi, check out the RACC bot code, it uses the map data to generate navigation meshes. :)
