Server Issues with Fritzbot
I rent out a server from a host and for some reason the server crashes every once in a while. The host told me it has something to do with botlib in the file line, so I assume that refers to the bot library. Does anyone know why a server would just crash and how I can avoid that?

Re: Server Issues with Fritzbot
The botlib is a left over bit of code from the old Q3 src, which ET is based on. Fritz doesn't use any of the botlib stuff, and most of the botlib stuff was removed by me to trim the source size down. This sounds a lot like a server setup issue. Is the server running the correct mod? Is it in windows?

Re: Server Issues with Fritzbot
Ya, it's windows, and it's running the correct mod. I have a second server which I will soon stop using in favor of another host, but the second server doesn't have this issue. What do you suggest I do regarding this? I mean, how do I go about determining what the issue really is? I'll go ahead and relay what you said to the server host because I suspected it was server related myself, since the mod runs fine on the other host's server.

Re: Server Issues with Fritzbot
Just throwing out a few ideas...
* which Windows? Vista/XP/2000 ? What are the differences between the 2 servers? * Is windows logging the crash? Dr watson or what? * Are you keeping track of which map, and when? * Have you looked through any server log files (filename may vary but fritzbot\etserver.log is one common name )? If you are logging and it is related to a map there is a chance you might log the event that preceeds the crash. |

Just to say, my server was crashing a lot too, removed Whaleclient it it never crashed again. Are you using Whaleclient?
