In case anyone cares, I am working as Level Designer for IO Interactive(www.ioi.dk) these days.

Hi old friend, why the web site ot SoW is not online ? I know that the team is no longer working on that game and in the forums there was topic for that but I think that you must keep the game files online at last. :)

Like, take the AS_ vip escort mode of CS, change it up a bit, and I think tha'd be wicked.

We are currently busy with expanding the amazing multiplayer for Kane & Lynch called Fragile Alliance:)

Sands of War is a thing of the past and I don't believe that it would serve any good to keep it online. I have a backup of our installers along with sourcecode for both SoW1 and SoW2 on my hdd and that must be enough:)

There were a users that had played that mod, SoW2 was going very good, I think that maybe is good idea to publish everything somewhere along with the source code for the people that liked it. :)

Hi all !
It's me ... Bob !
Nukebox was hacked badly near the end & the entire database was erased.
Auxois never bothered to redo it, as it wasn't a very popular place at the time.
I miss those days a lot sometimes.
I still map for The Specialists occasionally: My Mapping Pages

If you guys have a MySpace account, you can findAuxois, listed as 'I love lamp', living in Tampa, FL.
Sm0k3 used to be on there too, but I see his profile no longer exists.

Anyways ... good to see you guys are still alive !
Anybody ever heard from 'Bluesy' ?

Haha......wow.......old friends :)

Well I'm a couple months late but my brother found this on a google search and sent me the link and I still have my old login for here, so I logged in to reply. :)

I still have the nuclearbox.com domain but its pointing to well, nothing now. Carpenter is right it got hacked a few times by arab hacker groups of all things(I can't imagine how we became a target for them? :D :D ) but the databases were backed up weekly so I didn't lose more than a weeks worth of posts and such, and I still have them actually on dvd. But at the time I was going through a divorce I believe so I just couldn't keep it alive.

Nowadays I don't spend a lot of time playing computer games, I mostly play on my 360 (cod4 and now gta4) so I'm kind of "out of the scene", but man I do miss you guys and the old days! ;D

I also switched careers from computers to wireless sales a few years ago which has been just awesome I love it. I'm also no longer into Camaros and muscle cars and have moved on to European cars, specifically BMW(I own a 330ci), and I just installed a car pc in it with nav and all that stuff, so thats kind of my hobby now.

I will probably just point nuclearbox to some place soon, maybe a related bot site like here or something just to redirect traffic to you guys(if there even still is any). Or if anyone is ever interested in archiving the posts let me know I can provide that, but its huge, something like 300 megs I believe. Alot of it should still be on the Way Back Machine on Internet Archive: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://...nuclearbox.com

Anyways if anyone wants to stay in touch you can find me on myspace like carp said, search for my email "trainspotting" on gmail or "i love lamp" in tampa like he said. Or on xbox live i am "Jyan Rackson". Miss all of you fockers! :)

Am I too late to join the party? I actually came here (checked realbot dot com... doh) because an argument over a public statement made me think back...

Re: So whatever happened to the Nuclearbox?

Hi there, not sure if any of you guys are still around, but I was just about to start reading a book on AI and it reminded me of the nuclearbox days, which led me to this post :p

I used to go by the name eLiTe on Nuclearbox (and in fact I still have my nboxelite [at] hotmail.com email address as my secondary email address). It's satisfying to see Count Floyd mention TEAMbot, seeing as POD bot was the most popular back then and so I had a lot of respect for him and the things he was doing (especially when it came to doing stuff like implementing the A* search algorithm which I had no idea how to do until Botman released his code) :)

I'd also like to see that chatbot thesis you mentioned if you have a link to it Count Floyd, it sounds pretty cool!

I agree with everyone else that the state of AI in single player games these days is still pathetic compared to what we were making back then!

TEAMbot is still the most fun project that I've ever done, and all you nuclearbox guys were the ones that made it really worthwhile, so if any of you are reading this, thankyou :)

[edit: special mention to RuBones, I remember him helping a lot with waypoint files and encouragement]
