Spawn points distance

I know that we should could keep a distance between spawn points in CS otherwise players will die while trying to spawn.

I was wondering what is this value exactly (i was told 64 points) and if this value changes in other hl mods, like deathmatch, dod, etc (assuming it's a hl behaviour)

Thanks.

Re: Spawn points distance

It will only vary if the size of the player model changes (in mods such as Natural selection). Otherwise, 64 units is pretty much a rule.

Re: Spawn points distance

Just noticed this thread.
Maybe someone is still interested in this.

I did extensive testing in this area.
I created a test map and kept moving a grid of spawnpoints closer until I got the deraded telefrage at round start.

For cs it is exactly 72 units in each direction to be totaly safe.
Closer then this "may" work but in some caes causes instant death at round start.

Fo rboth cz and pod bots, "sometimes" if they die at round start because the spawn point is too close you will get a player model stuck in the ground at that location.

This is why my map hack (or bspedit_mm) only allow placing spawn at least 72 units apart.
